No Brushes to wear out at the wrong time! Eliminate the high costs of 240VDC air conditioning equipment. We now offer A.C. voltage air conditioners powered by D.C. voltage through Variable Frequency Drives.
General Information: The traditional way of manufacturing an air conditioning system powered by 240VDC was to design a system with all components directly by DC power. This meant using DC motors, contactors, starters, etc..... This makes the DC system one of the most costly and high maintenance systems available. Unlike the traditional way of manufacturing a DC system, a new avenue is to utilize the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technology to convert the DC power to AC power, and then the AC power is used to drive a system with all standard AC motors. By utilizing the built-in functions of the VFD, the new design eliminates all contactors, starters, overload protectors, and eventually eliminates the entire control panel. The new design is much simpler in configuration, easier to operate, more advanced in control technology, has better performance, and at the same time costs less. Advantages of the Design: 1. Cost Savings. The new design replaces all DC motors with AC motors. Use of the VFD design replaces the entire DC control panel and all components in it. 2. The VFD design provides soft-start to all motors, for a long operation life. Also, the soft-start completely eliminates the starting spike impact on users' power source, which reduces the capacity requirement on the power supply. 3. The VFD system provides overload protection on all motors. The protection level can be easily programmed for different situations. 4. The entire power control is done through non-contact solid-state circuits. No physical contacts to wear-out. 5. The wiring is extremely simple. 6. The controls are advanced and easy to change. For example, adjusting the cooling capacity to match the real load can be done simply by changing the frequency of the VFD driving the compressor motor. 7. Accepts a wide voltage range of power supply. Any voltage change to the input will be isolated to the VFD output; therefore the output power to the motor will note be influenced. It protects the motor, compressor, and system performance. If the power supply is over this range, the VFD will protectively stop output, and automatically restart when input power recovers to normal. 8. The control circuit is safer. Switches (HP, LP, Thermostat, etc.) in the system deal only with sensing of continuity. Limitations of the VFD Design: 1. As with most electronic devices, high temperature can damage the VFD. They must be mounted in a conditioned space. The drive will protectively shut itself down if the temperature is above 104°F (40°C). |
